2019 Ford EdgeA supercharged thrill ride is what you can expect when you’re behind the wheel of the 2019 Ford Edge ST. Built for performance and durability combined with state-of-the-art technology, each ride is more memorable than the last.

Exterior Features

The 2019 ST makes an impressive statement with its new look, which includes stylish contours and 20-inch wheels along with expressive dual exhaust outlets, side skirts, special cladding, LED headlights, memorable front fascia, and an aggressive-looking mesh grille. If you want to add some additional sass, an ST Performance Brake package includes 21-inch wheels painted in black, highlighted by red-painted calipers. Other available packages include features such as heated and cooled front seats, heated steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, and a windshield wiper de-icer.

Under the Hood

The Edge ST is ready to roll anytime and has the power plus performance to make it happen. The SUV comes equipped with a powerful 4-cylinder 2.7-liter V-6 twin turbocharged EcoBoost engine that pumps out 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive with the ability to switch to front wheel drive, and finely tuned suspension provide precision response in driver handling and maneuverability.

The new ST has specific design enhancements that center on braking, handling, grip, and ride, especially when using the Sport mode feature. When engaged, Sport mode preselects gears and manages the shifting ability of the Edge. Drivers have the option to make their own call regarding shifting by using the wheel-mounted shift paddles.

Interior

The Edge ST is fun to drive and Ford has made sure of this with an array of comfort and convenience features for all occupants. The ST is fitted with a well-designed cabin, quality materials, ST badging, and thickly cushioned front seats. Three-across rear bench seating provides plenty of comfort with ample shoulder and legroom. The cargo area is spacious, which comes in handy when shopping or traveling.

Several of the technology features include a standard 8.0-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, 4.2-inch cluster gauge screens, and the capability of wireless charging for electronic devices. The Ford+Alexa app connects via the SYNC 3 AppLink providing access to traffic information, Amazon Prime shopping, voice navigation, and even allows you to control smart devices in your home. The FordPass Connect system provides a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that can be accessed outside the SUV up to 50 feet.

Adding a technology package such as 401A or Cold Weather provides features such as a front-facing camera, active parking system, AC power outlet, in-dash navigation system, and more.

Safety Features

The 2019 Edge SUV has the standard Co-Pilot 350 safety features, which include automatic high-beam lights, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert included, automatic emergency braking fitted with pedestrian detection, and lane-keep assist. Passenger safety is covered with side-impact air bags, side-curtains with rollover sensor, safety canopy for the front and second row, LATCH system, rear view camera, child-safety rear door locks, and front seat safety belt reminder.

The Edge stands out with its new design, higher performance levels, impressive handling ability, and safety features. If you’re in the market, the ST has the pep and precision for a competitive driving experience.
