Kid Blowing Bubbles in ParkBoredom and budgets are usually not good friends. It seems everything to do in town costs too much, and we shutter ourselves inside our homes to save money. But if you want to break outside and find something to do on the cheap in the Loganville, Georgia, area, you have plenty of options. Make fun easy on your wallet at these free or near-free Loganville area destinations:

  1. Explore Tribble Mill Park

Over in nearby Lawrenceville, you’ll find Tribble Mill Park. If you’re looking for a great place to get outside and breathe in nature, this park is the place to do it. It has 713 acres of fishing lake, a 3.4-mile paved trail, various nonpaved hiking and mountain biking trails, and more. Take a picnic, put some miles on your hiking boots, go bird-watching — it’s generally always free to explore the great outdoors.

  1. Pick Up Skateboarding or Play a Game at Bay Creek Park

If you can get your hands on a skateboard, you can put it to good use at Bay Creek Park. There’s a full-size skateboarding complex where you can learn the basics of the art or brush up on your skills. If you’re not into falling down on concrete, you can also find plenty of baseball and softball fields, tennis and basketball courts, and a multi-purpose field to play a game of your favorite sport.

  1. See Art at the Hudgens Center

The Hudgens Center for Art & Learning offers free admission to their galleries, making it a great destination for art-lovers on a budget. It’s over in Duluth, and well worth the drive. Their ever-revolving series of exhibits make every visit to the center a new experience. Even if you’re not an art aficionado, you’ll appreciate the thought-provoking pieces on display at the Hudgens Center.

  1. See Beautiful Gardens at the Vines Botanical Gardens

Get your photo ops at the 25 acres of beauty you’ll find at the Vines Botanical Gardens. The gardens are expertly maintained and manicured, full of annual and perennial flowers, trees, a picturesque lake, and more to explore. The gardens are also home to the gorgeous Vines Mansion. The sights to see at the Vines Botanical Gardens make visiting them one of our favorite free things to do in town.

  1. Play Lawn Games at Alexander Park

If you love playing lawn games, head to Alexander Park in Lawrenceville. You’ll get to take on the 18-hole disc golf course that calls this park home, as well as horseshoe pits. There’s plenty of room to set up games you bring from home, and grills to make lunch with. There’s also a fishing lake here, as well as two trails to get a good stroll in. Playing lawn games is a fun thing to do with friends, and it doesn’t cost a dime if you have the gear already.

Exploring your city is fun, free, and lets you get to know it on a personal level. Don’t be afraid to get out of the car and get up close to the culture Loganville offers its residents and visitors alike.
