In addition to selling a wide variety of new and pre-owned Ford vehicles, we’ve also become experts on local attractions and events. As winter prepares to settle in, residents of the Lawrenceville area will have plenty of options to choose from when it comes to recreation. We’ve compiled this list of some of the best holiday options around.
Candy Cane Festival & Car Show
As a car show, this event is close to our hearts. The show will be held on December 9, 2017 in Covington, which is just over half an hour from the center of Lawrenceville. This event is hosted by the Back to Basics Market, which combines an art gallery with an organic bakery. As such, plenty of culture and delicious snacks will be available during this holiday festival. The event features arts, crafts, and lots of classic cars. The Candy Cane festival is free to the public.
Children’s Watoto Kwanzaa Jamboree
This event is an excellent opportunity for children of all ages to learn about the Kwanzaa holiday and to experience a bit of African-American holiday culture. The event is hosted by the Liberated Minds Black Homeschool and Education Institute and takes place on December 30, 2017. Participants will have the chance to learn about the seven principles of Kwanzaa and will also enjoy a variety of activities, such as African dancing and drumming, storytelling, music, arts, crafts, face painting, and more. Adult tickets are just $10, and children are entitled to free admission.
Christmas Eve Celebration
Just 20 minutes from Lawrenceville, Fusion Church will be hosting a Christmas Eve Celebration on December 24, 2017. The event will run from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, ensuring that participants will still have plenty of time to attend family functions and obligations later in the evening. The church festival is completely free to attend, and available activities will include worship services and fun games for children in the church’s designated “KidZone.” While attendance is free, interested families are encouraged to obtain tickets in advance.
Winter Fun Festival
Another great winter festival will be held at the Atrium Event Center in Stone Mountain, Georgia, on December 23, 2017. This event is hosted by The Center for Truth and Healing and features support from prominent organizations, such as Toys for Tots. Activities for children include guest appearances from local stars and presentations by Mama Koku’s Storytelling and Big Thinkers Science Exploration. It’s a great event for them to both learn and have some fun. This is a free event for adults and children alike.
While winter brings colder temperatures and shorter days, it’s also a great time to celebrate the holidays in the greater Lawrenceville area. These selections are just a few of the many festive celebrations occurring during the month of December and beyond. Whether you’re a parent with little children or you’re just looking for some holiday cheer for yourself, you can’t go wrong with any of these winter festivals.
